Artisan Soap Ingredients

Every bar of soap we make has a 100% goat milk replacement. What does that mean? It means that we do not use water to create our lye solution (necessary to create soap). We only use goat milk to create that solution. Here are some of the reasons why:

  • Goat milk soap boasts high amounts of fats, particularly caprylic acid, allowing for gentle removal of dirt and debris without removing the skin’s natural fatty acids.
  • Goat milk is rich in fatty acids and cholesterol, which make up a large portion of the skin membrane. A lack of these components in your skin can lead to dryness and irritation.
  • Goat milk is a good source of vitamin A, a fat-soluble vitamin shown to have anti-aging properties
  • Goat milk is a good source of selenium, a mineral shown to support a healthy skin membrane.

Along with the lovely benefits of goat milk, we also use the following oils & butters in every bar of soap.

RSPO Certified Sustainable Palm Oil – restores hydration to dry skin, preventing further dryness by sealing in moisture. Suitable for use on sensitive skin.

Apricot Kernel Oil – is rich in vitamins like A, C, E, and K and makes a non-greasy, enriching emollient.

Coconut Oil – cleanses and nourishes skin, leaving it soft and silky. It quickly and deeply hydrates the skin, locking in moisture.

Olive Oil – is used for its ability to clean, moisturize, and eliminate bacteria by deeply penetrating pores without clogging them.

Castor Oil - contains antioxidants that fight free radicals.

Cocoa Butter - a rich natural fat derived from the cacao beans contained inside the pods of the Cocoa/Cacao Tree. Works to naturally soothe dry, sensitive skin.

Shea Butter - is fat that’s extracted from the nuts of the shea tree and is full of vitamins A, E and F, as well as antioxidant vitamins. The rich tree-nut oils in shea butter can soak into your skin, creating a smooth and soft barrier that seals in moisture without clogging your pores.

** These are the additives used in most of our soaps and why we use them **

Colloidal Oats – can function as a cleanser, moisturizer, skin soother, and protective anti-inflammatory ingredient.

Kaolin Clay – is a mild yet very effective cleanser that benefits your skin by gently sloughing away dull dead skin, absorbing impurities and excess oil from your skin and pores.

Sorbitol/Sugar – helps creates bubbles

Sodium Lactate – helps harden the soap so it is easier to remove from the mold

Mica Colorant - ethically sourced and never tested on animals

Fragrance - phthalate-free
